One day a gray heron was walking through its lagoon, the waters were so calm that you could see all the beautiful fish that inhabited it. The heron saw a carp swimming by and it would have been very easy to catch it with its beak to make an excellent snack. But since he was not hungry at the time, he decided to wait to eat.
Hours later, he thought about having lunch and looked in the water for the succulent carp, but it had already left. He could see tench swimming around his long legs, he looked at them and thought:
-Do you have me? How am I going to be content, with meat so ordinary and with a taste of mud? He kept waiting to see if the carp would appear, but only a very small goby passed by. And said:
- Open the beak of a gray heron, for such a meager morsel? - God forbid!
But ... he had to open it at the end for a simple worm, when hunger was already pressing and even without wanting it the need made him put aside his demands.
Moral: Do not judge the good and the average despicable, you must keep in mind the heron and the worm.
